Chicago Marathon Training: Week 15 Complete

Today was a very long day of errands and we flew over to Indiana for lunch. The restaurant we planned to eat at was closed so we ended up going into town for a bite at Ruby Tuesdays. It was nicer than the one we have in our town.

The flight over:

Jack flew over with us in his plane and got a picture of us landing.

Us with our plane:

I ended up doing my 8 miles on the treadmill at the end of the night.

Here is how the week went:
M: Bike 7.9 Miles (P4, L5, 30 mins, 15.8 mph), Upper body on Bowflex and Weights, Abs
T: 4 Miles Easy (Treadmill, 1% incline, 39:59, 8:30 pace)
W: Rest
R: Rest
F: 5 Miles Tempo (Treadmill, 1% incline, 39:44, 7:57 pace w/3 Miles @ 7:41)
Sa: 4 Miles Easy (‘Hood, 32:12, 8:03 pace)
Su: 8 Miles Long (Treadmill, 1% incline, 1:06:31, 8:19 pace)

Total: 21 Miles

And that leaves one more week! My next long run is the marathon!!

  1. I'm having a hard time deciding what to wear…Weather.com says high of 51, but I read a couple places only a high of 44. Any thoughts?

  2. Yay! The countdown is on!

  3. Wendy, I'm guessing it will be in the 30s in the morning. At this point I know I'm wearing a throw away shirt, but now I may even dig up a throw away hat and gloves too. The rest I'm not sure about, I'll end up packing everything and deciding at the last minute.CJ

  4. Can't wait till this weekend to get all the news from everyone I know running Chicago. Please do tell how has taper been going for you. My DH has another week and he is driving me crazy (my half taper is not a big deal at all).Way to go for making your first marathon such a great one (not sure how anything will be able to live up to this one, well maybe running in ROME, LOL).Congrats again, and good luck to both you and Rob!

  5. I can't wait to read about the marathon!!I also have to say, I give you credit for the miles you can do on the treadmill. I can barely run 1-2 miles on the treadmill. It's the devil. lol

  6. I can't believe its finally here! I'm getting so excited! Shoot me an email when you get a minute so i can give you my number and we can meet up! 🙂 🙂

  7. Stephanie – yeah I wasn't psyched about 8 miles on the treadmill.Nicole – Finally here! I'll shoot you an email. :)CJ

  8. Stevi – Sorry I forgot to say that taper for the marathon stinks. Having more than a week of taper is hard. It's kinda like the emotions that come with PMS. I'm hyper one moment, then lazy and bored the next. They need a marathon taper midol. :)CJ
