Drop It Like It’s Hot

Yesterday Rob and I did 6 Miles Easy on the treadmill at the gym and lifted weights. I did Lower Body and Ab Strengthening. I spent the rest of the night resting. We watched Food Matters, and I can definitely say I’m motivated to get more raw fruits and veggies in my diet and get consistent on taking my vitamins.

Today Rob worked on lowering our Mini Cooper with some new springs that we got from Ryan. Gotta drop it like it’s hot. 😉

It was so mild and gorgeous out today, even with  storm that moved in later in the evening. I ran 10 Miles out in the hood. My legs felt stale, but that’s okay, I guess I’m still recovering.

I got my confirmation from Boston Marathon today that my entry has been processed! Yay!!

Here is how the week ended  up.

W: 5.03 Miles Easy (SF Pond, 45:54, 9:08 Pace)

Th: Rest

F: 5 Miles Easy (Treadmill, 1% Incline, 39:14, 7:51 Pace)

Heal Myself

Rob and I went to yoga this morning. Each session they start off with meditative breathing and we are supposed to come up with what the personal intent we hope to achieve at the session. Today I chose to focus on the phrase “heal myself”. I have felt some tightness in my hips and knees from the marathon and it felt so good to stretch out. I even found soreness in my shoulders with some of the poses we did. I love that after doing yoga it is like having a massage, it’s so relaxing.

Later that evening we took a flight over to see Drew for dinner.

Ready to roll.

Heading out.

Almost there.

And heading back home.

Getting ready to land.

When we got home I ran 5 Miles Easy on the Treadmill.

Up and Away

This morning Rob and I went out for a 7 Miles Recovery and donned hats and gloves for the first time of the fall season. Afterward we met up with Drew for a yummy Sunday Brunch at a local restaurant.

Then Rob and I took a quick flight just around the area. I haven’t been up since his second batch of painting.

Flying over some lakes that some of the local races are held at.

The paint job, almost done!

Then this evening we took Coco for a quick walk and later I did an hour on the Exercise Bike.

This recovery week ended up with the following workouts:

M: Rest

T: Bike 8 Miles Easy (30:00, 16MPH Pace, P1, L4)

W: Rest

R: 4 Miles Easy (Treadmill, 1% Incline, 33:26, 8:22 Pace)

F: 5.2 Miles Easy (T Park, 45:06, 8:41 Pace), Upper Body and Ab Strengthening

Sa: Bike 10.3 Miles Easy (45:00, 13.73MPH Pace, P2, L3)

Su: 7.16 Miles Easy (‘Hood, 59:43, 8:21 Pace), Bike 16.1 Miles Interval (1:00:00, 16.1MPH Pace, P5, L3)

Total Miles: 16.36

GTL

This Friday it was all about the GTL, but instead of the Jersey Shore – Gym, Tan, Laundry, ours was – Gym, Tikka Masala, Laundry. 🙂

Friday was a lot of errands but at the same time quite relaxing. After all the errand running Rob and I went for our 5 Mile Recovery run in a local park and then hit the gym. I did Upper Body and Ab Strengthening.

Then we went home and I made Jamie Oliver’s Chicken Tikka Masala, yum! And also got some laundry done. GTL!! 😉

This morning Rob and I volunteered at a 5K race that is part of our college’s Homecoming weekend celebration. I was Mile 1 Split timer and Rob was Mile 2.

Us before the race start.

Our friends Jo and Larry.

I got to ride on the back of the pace motorcycle and they dropped me at the Mile 1 split. So I got the best view of the lead runners. Our friend Ryan won the race!

This afternoon was just more errands and then 45 Minutes on the Exercise Bike.
