Mercedes Marathon Training: Week 4 Day 6

Today was a first for me, my longest run on the treadmill, 17 Miles. We have a family gathering tomorrow so we had to move our long run and it ended up being today. With the weather we chose to keep this long run indoors. Even with the TV, time passes slowly and 136 minutes felt like an eternity. But the marathon has moments where it feels like it will go on forever, so I guess training through that type of feeling is a good thing. I also found out that our treadmill stops at 100 minutes cause it can’t display past 99:59, so I had to reset it.

  1. WOW I don't think I've ever run more than about 6 miles on the treadmill! I'm so impressed. Great pace too! I have a feeling you'll PR by like an hour in your next marathon!

  2. wow that is really impressive. How do you stay focused enough to run 17 miles on a treadmill and not get bored??

  3. Cate, lol yeah that would be the dream. :)Erica, I did have the iPod connected to our TV so I watched old episodes of Cheerleader Nation (Go Dunbar!), but it still felt quite long.CJ

  4. 17 miles??? holy crap, lol! I can barely get in 7 miles on the TM. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if I had one at home, but I have to go to the gym…where you can't controll the TV's or even listen to them!by the way, I used to love watching Cheerleader Nation.

  5. Awesome job, CJ!!!! That's the way to be dedicated. Your race in two months will thank you!

  6. nice job dude! the most i've ran is 13 and that was rough! your a pro!
