Mercedes Marathon Training: Week 6 Day 3

It’s so strange to be half way through the training for our next marathon. I finally feel like I’m over the cold, sinus, or whatever it was that has been looming over me for the last 5 days. Tonight I did 10 Miles VO2 Max W/ 5 X 1000M Strides @ 5K Pace W/ Jog In Between. Then I followed up with some ab work and squats on the BOSU.

Mercedes Marathon Training: Week 5 Complete

Today has been great! This morning Rob made me breakfast in bed (scrambled egg beaters, center cut bacon, WW toast, orange and coffee). I’m feeling better, not a 100%, but much better. This afternoon I kept my run inside again today, 16 Miles. Afterward I came down to wonderful smell of dinner being cooked! Rob made us dinner! Between the two of us I’m the cook. Rob has made us a few meals over our years together, but this was just a regular day and unprompted. Plus twice in one day! I definitely feel spoiled today. 🙂

This week was a cut back week on mileage. Here is how the week of training looked.
M: 20 Mins Total Body Sliming Pilates
T: Rest
W: 12 Miles Med-Long (Treadmill, 1% Incline, 1:31:50, 7:40 pace)

Mercedes Marathon Training: Week 5 Day 6

Running sick sucks.

But my lungs are okay so I got my miles in on the treadmill. Today was 9 Miles LT W/ 4 Miles @ 15K – HMGP. At least my head is no longer stuffy and now just my throat is sore. I barely have a voice. I’ll probably keep tomorrow’s run inside as well. I definitely don’t need to breathe in any cold air while running right now.

Mercedes Marathon Training: Week 5 Day 5

Merry Christmas! It sounds like everyone had a very good Christmas, which is awesome!

I have been under the weather since yesterday. We have had tons of rain here and it has caused me to have awful sinus headaches, sore throat, and body aches. Luckily Christmas Eve was a rest day so I could take meds and get the house ready for Christmas. Today I made it through cooking dinner and had a lovely Christmas with family.

Me with dinner I made (spiral cut ham, sweet potato casserole, spicy green beens, homemade cranberry sauce, and rolls.

Rob and Me.

I relaxed on the couch for awhile and then decided that it was time to run 5 Miles Recovery on the treadmill. My head feels clear now, but I can’t stop coughing. I hope this icky feeling gets over with soon.
