Mercedes Marathon Training: Week 1.1 Complete

This week flew by and I betting that this coming week will also seem fast with so much going on.

Here is how the first week went.
M: Bike 8.8 Intervals (P2, L6, 30 mins, 17.6 mph), Legs, Push Ups, and Abs on BOSU
T: 8 Miles GA + Speed W/ 10 X 100M Strides (Treadmill, 1% incline, 1:03:24, 7:56 pace)
W: Rest
R: Rest
F: 13.1 Miles Long W/ 8 @ MGP (‘Hood, 1:48:54, 8:19 pace, new PR!)
Sa: 9 Miles GA (Treadmill, 1% incline, 1:06:04, 8:28 pace)
Su: .6 Mile Warm Up (Park, 5:14, 8:44 pace), 4 Mile Race (Park, 29:54, 7:29 pace, hilly, new PR!, 1st AG), .5 Mile Cool Down (Park, 4:46, 9:32 pace)

Total: 35.2


2009 Turkey Trot – 4 Mile – 29:54

Today’s race was a Turkey Trot 4 Mile race that is very hilly and finishes up with .75 on the grass. We had perfect race weather, 58 degrees, sunny and no wind.

Got a picture of the part of the course after the race. It is a beautiful park with a lot of off road trails too.

Rob and I both PRed! He came in 29:43 and I was 29:54. We both improved this distance by two minutes which we were both happy with since this course was not flat at all.

I also got 1st in my age group! The awards are turkey trophys and 1st and 2nd got a voucher from Kroger grocrey store for a free Jenny-O turkey.
