Half Training: Recovery Week

I have completed my recovery week from the IL Half Marathon and I’m happy to report all is well!

Not only is everything feeling good, but I had a very fun week of running. The highlights included the following.

Work Wellness Run:
I clocked out early to participate in our wellness run around the company lake. They didn’t get the course marked like last fall, which was no problem cause I had my trusty Garmin. It was a beautiful day and there were many familar faces: Curt, Mike, Tanya, and Terry out to take advantage of the day as well. It was hard to hold back on pace and mileage, but I didn’t want to press my luck. I got in 4.71 miles that day.

Run at home in the afternoon:
The next day we had errands to get done, which meant taking some personal time and leaving work early. This allowed me to squeeze in 3.24 around the neighborhood before we headed out. As usual it was super windy in our neighborhood.

Heart House Race:
The Heart House 4 Mile Race went well and I have a full report in my earlier post.

Long Run with Rob:
To cap off the week is starting back into longer runs. Rob and I went for a change of scenery and went for park in the middle of town for a 6 mile run. It was a nice change of scenery to be in a new location and the weather wasn’t too bad considering rain was predicted for most of the day. 55 degrees, overcast, windy.

Weekly Data:
M: Bike Easy (9.9 Miles, 40 mins, P1, L3), Free Weights Arms and Abs

My full marathon training will begin in June. Until then I will be building my mileage.
